Data Analytics. Quantitative research and investment analysis.

The data desk is where opinions become something that can be checked. It builds the screens that narrow a sector to a handful of companies, the datasets assembled from company filings and the models that state a thesis precisely enough for it to be wrong.
Every desk sends its numbers here before a case reaches the committee. Comparables are rebuilt, assumptions are set against the data and conclusions are run again with different inputs. The work is done in Python and spreadsheets and documented so that another member can reproduce it without asking. Over time the desk maintains the data the initiative relies on across cases, which makes each new case faster to build and harder to fool.
What a member takes away
Rigour with financial data, models that others can audit and the habit of presenting quantitative results to decision makers in a form they can act on.
